Dutch builder Zeelander Yachts says construction is progressing on Hull No. 1 of its new flagship model, the Z72, with delivery scheduled in early 2019.
Exteriors were developed in collaboration with Cor D. Rover, while Zeelander’s team handled interior design. Styling highlights include a rounded stern, a side-entry tender garage and a raked superstructure with a curved windshield.
The deckhouse will be enclosed, with a glass-bridge helm forward — and a benchseat that converts to face aft when the yacht is at anchor. A dining table will be abaft it (beneath a sunroof), with the galley, table and bench seating farther aft. The dining table lowers to convert to a guest berth, in addition to the three staterooms that are belowdecks.
Additional convertible spaces will be out on deck. For example, the transom will fold down, along with the backrest of the after settee, creating a sun pad near the swim platform.
How fast will the Zeelander Z72 go? Triple 1,000-horsepower Volvo Penta IPS1350 engines are expected to push her to a top hop above 40 knots, according to the builder.
