Zeelander Yachts has announced that the company’s new Zeelander 8 will launch in a matter of weeks. According to a press release from the Dutch yacht brand, the 79-foot flagship yacht is finishing up construction at the Groot Ammers-based shipyard on time for its delivery in July.
Zeelander’s precise molding process leaves almost no requirement for fairing, so the hull has moved smoothly through the paint booth. The Zeelander 8 has a careful spray in Porsche rhodium silver, with contrasting orange and blue lines at the waterline.
The sleek superstructure, painted in pearl white, creates the volume for a sophisticated social space at the main deck level. The first Zeelander 8 will have a custom salon, and the helm position will have unobstructed sight lines through a mullion-free windscreen.
“The Zeelander 8 is an aesthetic development of the smaller Zeelander models,” Alexander Razinkov, Zeelander’s press office contact, told Yachting. “It also features the same speed, quietness and immaculate finish that have helped position the brand at the very apex of yachting.”
The next step of engineering work required to bring the Zeelander 8 to life is to unite the hull and the deck. Afterwards, Zeelander’s in-house carpenters, fitters and finishers will design and decorate the interior shell of the yacht in line with the client’s wishes.
After the yacht’s completion, it will be transported to the south of France for enjoyment on the French Riviera. The finished product will be a result of tens of thousands of work hours from Zeelander’s yacht building team since the project started mid-2023.
“We are so proud of the Zeelander 8 project,” said Zeelander founder Sietse Koopmans in a press release. “Born of a loyal client’s desire for a bigger yacht, the Zeelander 8 succeeds in perpetuating the famous Zeelander aesthetic while hugely increasing interior volumes. And all that without compromising performance. This yacht will be able to reach 40 knots across the Golfe de la Napoule, while our obsessive use of advanced soundproofing means that you will always be able to hold a normal conversation – even at full throttle.”
In an earlier press release from Zeelander sent in March, the company described its vision for the interior design of the Zeelander 8. A bright master stateroom with a full king-size berth and ensuite head spans the yacht’s full 22-foot beam. Additionally, two guest staterooms are equipped with queen-size berths and ensuite heads.
Large windows brighten these staterooms with natural light, and there’s sizable headroom. A crew area in the bow also benefits from these considerations, with two ensuite cabins and its own dedicated access via a forward hatch above the crew mess.
A tender garage aft offers space to drive in and store a Williams 395 Sportjet. From the bathing platform aft to the foredeck lounge with its seats and sunbeds, the main salon to the master cabin, the Zeelander 8 is built for luxury cruising.
