Tankoa Yachts in Italy has inked a deal to build a fully custom, 170-foot motoryacht for delivery in spring of 2025.

The yacht will be developed on a new platform for its Canadian owners, in consultation with their representative Albert McIlroy from Optimusnavis.

Design is in collaboration with Vitruvius Yachts Ltd., led by the designer Philippe Briand, who handled the exterior design and the naval architecture. Interiors are by FM Architettura.

The yacht will be less than 500 gross tons and will have hybrid propulsion, with batteries developed in partnership with Siemens.

“The project was developed over a year and, once Tankoa was chosen as the shipyard, it was a pleasure to collaborate with the owners to define the last details of what will surely be a remarkable, pleasant and successful collaboration,” Claudio Corvino, Tankoa sales manager, stated in a press release.

What material will the hull be? This yacht, being called a Vitruvius Yachts 52, will be built entirely of aluminum.
