Valhalla Boatworks, part of the Viking Yachts family, has unveiled plans for a new flagship model: the Valhalla 55.
Hull No. 1 of the 55-foot center-console is expected to start construction this summer, with the model’s world premiere at the 2022 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.
“There will be nothing like it,” Viking Yachts President and CEO Pat Healey stated in a press release. “We’re setting a new standard by bringing together the qualities of a large center console and a luxury sportfishing yacht.”
The V-55 will have a 15-foot, 6-inch beam, making it usable as an offshore tournament boat, a high-performance sport yacht, a fish-and-cruise express boat or a superyacht tender.
Power will be four or five 600-horsepower Mercury V-12 Verado outboards.
“The boat was designed and engineered for these engines,” Viking Vice President of Design and Engineering Lonni Rutt stated in the press release. “We developed a transom and structure to support the weight and horsepower. We prepared for—and are working with—the technology rather than adapting to it.”
A few more Valhalla 55 specs: It will hold 1,200 gallons of fuel, will have space for a Seakeeper 9 gyrostabilizer, will have two 65-gallon live wells, will be laid out with as many as nine forward-facing chairs, will have a standard Zipwake Dynamic Trim-Control System, and will have 6 feet, 10 inches of headroom in the cabin.
