Otam Yachts in Italy says it has sold Hull No. 7 of the Otam 80HT, with delivery scheduled for summer 2025.
“We’re always ready to introduce engineering and design modifications, but I can honestly say that this time we’re looking at the most extreme and advanced 80HT yet,” Matteo Belardinelli, Otam’s sales and communication manager, stated in a press release. “The client is not just an expert owner. He’s also an experienced captain, and came to us with a detailed list of technical and aesthetic requests of his own.”
The hull and deck will be laminated in Kevlar, and the superstructure will be carbon fiber. The hull lines by Umberto Tagliavini Marine Design & Services and the twin 2,600-horsepower MTU engines coupled to Arneson drives are the same as with other Otam 80HTs, but “almost everything else has been re-engineered according to the owner-operator’s own technical specs,” according to the builder.
Examples of changes include larger opening windows, a larger one-piece windscreen with no pillars and a hardtop with a redesigned sliding sunroof.
Does Otam welcome so much customization on its boats? “From our point of view, we’re always looking to push our own boundaries, so you could say it’s a relationship made in heaven,” Belardinelli said.
