The first Sea Activity Vessel, or SAV, from CL Yachts has completed its technical launch.
CL Yachts says there was a delay in splashing the 96-foot CLX96 SAV because of the Covid-19 pandemic, following design accolades that came in 2020 and 2021 from Good Design and the international Yacht & Aviation Awards.
Styling on the CLX96 SAV is what the builder calls “workboat chic,” with a two-level deckhouse and reverse-sheer windshields. The windshield angle is intended to wash away water at sea, preserve sightlines and reduce the greenhouse effect in the interior.
Milan-based designer Jozeph Forakis drew the profile for the CLX96 SAV, taking inspiration from the New York City loft where he was born.
The power package: CL Yachts says the twin Caterpillar C32 engines should provide a cruising speed of 22 knots and a top speed of 27 knots at half load.
