Ares Yachts in Turkey has revealed a slew of details about its concept for the 177-foot explorer yacht Atlas, a steel-hulled vessel with an aluminum superstructure designed by Hot Lab with naval architecture by Van Oossanen.
The Atlas concept includes a split-level mezzanine bow design. It replaces the conventional foredeck, giving owners direct access from the master stateroom to an outdoor relaxation area with a hot tub. The owner’s space also has a private terrace, allowing further connection with the outdoors at all times.
Guest staterooms have direct access to the beach club aft, with similar indoor-outdoor connections in mind. The space, according to Ares Yachts, is different from typical beach clubs with foldout terraces on both sides and a swim platform area that includes a bar, sun beds and seating.

“The effect of this is a resort-like atmosphere where those on board can move seamlessly between socializing, on-water activities and relaxation,” Enrico Lumini, design director and co-founder of Hot Lab, stated in a press release.
Additional relaxation areas on deck have convertible lounging and dining spaces that can be used for entertaining various groups of guests. There’s also an infinity pool outdoors, with indoor features such as sole-to-ceiling windows for broad views all around the yacht.
A complement of nine crew is housed in five cabins.

The propulsion system on Atlas can be configured with traditional or hybrid systems, with solar panels also on the options list for sustainable cruising. Ares Yachts quotes a projected range of 5,000 nautical miles and a top speed above 16 knots.
The tender garage has a side-launch system for easier exploration in remote areas, and the concept yacht has helipad capability as well. Additional stowage is designated for typical toys such as personal watercraft and paddleboards, along with newer options such as e-foils and submersibles.
What else does Ares Yachts offer? The Turkish shipyard also has the composite 165-foot Spitfire model, created in collaboration with Lateral Naval Architects. Projections for that yacht are a maximum speed of 22 knots and a cruising range of 2,200 nautical miles, which extra tankage can increase to 3,500 nautical miles.
