Oyster 745 sailing yacht
Tooling has started for the new Oyster 745, which the builder says will launch in late 2015 — adding a full 15 percent more interior space than the Oyster 725 model that she is replacing. By 2016, Oyster plans to have three of the new boats built and ready for handoff to their new owners.
The Oyster 745 is available with a choice of rigs for speed or short-handed sailing. This is made possible by a new twin-rudder hull configuration by naval architect Rob Humphreys, a configuration that is currently showing good results on the Oyster 885 and Oyster 825.
All line handling on the Oyster 745 is abaft the twin steering positions, keeping the teak deck uncluttered and contemporary in style. There’s standing height in the lazarette and sail locker, and the forward guest cockpit includes an integral fridge for drinks. Far aft, a hydraulic swim platform makes it easy to take a dip or berth the tender.
Arrangements are available with four or five en suite cabins, and crew quarters can be customized depending on the owner’s plans for use. Also optional are centerboard, shoal draft or standard keel versions of the design.
