West Marine has announced the 25 nonprofit organizations that each will receive a $1,500 BlueFuture grant for 2016. Waterlife Outfitter presented the grants to the community-based organizations.
“No one understands the needs of a community better than those who live and work there, particularly when it comes to serving at-risk youth and improving youth access to the water,” Lindsey Johnson, West Marine’s director of communications, stated in a press release. “We want to serve as a valued partner for these organizations as they seek to make a real difference in children’s lives through Waterlife adventure, education and stewardship.”
West Marine received more than 100 applications for the grants from across the contiguous United States as well as Hawaii.
