The Monaco-based yacht builder Wally recently introduced its newest build, the 27 Wallyace Private GG. The 89-foot-8-inch, 94-ton yacht was recently launched off Marina di Ravenna, Italy, but, uniquely, not with champagne. Instead, the yacht was sworn in with local Sangiovese red wine, a traditional practice in the area. Private GG‘s delivery to her owner is scheduled for this month.
This yacht boasts a full-beam (25 feet 5 inches) owner’s suite. The 355-square-foot stateroom is aft on the lower deck and exemplifies the builder’s goal to provide an indoor-outdoor experience: it opens via sliding glass doors to the aft platform, which Wally calls a “terrace at sea.” Additionally, Private GG‘s tender garage, which houses a 16-foot-5-inch craft, is located amidships — and above the engine room — in order to be directly accessible from the crew and service area that’s forward on the lower deck. This allows for separation between crew and guest accommodations, bolstering guest privacy.
Private GG accommodates 7 guests in 3 staterooms: beyond the owner’s stateroom, there’s a double stateroom as well as one with twin berths and a Pullman berth. Crew accommodations are for four.
The indoor-outdoor experience extends into Private GG‘s salon, offering panoramic vistas through what Wally President Luca Bassani says are larger windows than on any other 27 Wallyace.
Ivory fabrics adorn the loft-style salon, a choice made by Alberto Pinto Interior Design in its first-ever collaboration with the yacht builder. “The client asked for a light and bright design,” says the Alberto Pinto team, but one that’s also chic and sporty, it adds. Other materials on board include white satin lacquer, gray bleached oak, red lacquer inside cabinets and chrome accents throughout. And to contrast the bright reflections off the water, the design firm incorporated dark tones of Makasser ebony and dark-brown leather in the wheelhouse.
In total, Private GG offers 1,722 square feet of interior space. Externally, however, she has 1,400 square feet of space, and 646 of that is on her sun deck, an area that may be choice number one for outdoor relaxing.
The 27 Wallyace model’s standard power is twin 385 hp Caterpillar C12 engines, reportedly pushing the yacht to a 13-knot maximum speed. Wally notes that Private GG‘s engines run at a low rpm, which offers “many advantages such as reduced vibration and noise, low consumption, little maintenance, and long life.” A gyroscopic stabilizer also helps deliver a smooth ride.
After Private GG‘s delivery, Wally says her owner plans to extensively cruise the Mediterranean.
