Vripack has released renderings of the 78-foot explorer yacht Rock, which is under construction at the Turkish shipyard Evadne and scheduled for launch in early 2018.
“When I began to ideate the motoryacht Rock concept, my utmost concern was how to make a sturdy and rugged yacht with sex appeal,” yacht owner Ali Sayakci stated in a press release. “Many of the practiced explorer concepts did not meet the aesthetic and technical criteria I was looking for. Their designer, Robin de Vries of Vripack, introduced us to the concept of a SUV yacht, and it was love at first sight.”
Rock has a fast-displacement hull and twin 1,000 hp Caterpillar diesels, with an expected top speed of 16 knots.
Project management is by Tufan and Brothers in Turkey.
