Vitters Shipyard in the Netherlands has signed a contract to build a 164-foot custom ketch. Construction is expected to start by the end of October with delivery to the owner 2019.
Naval architecture is by Hoek Design, with Rhoades Young Design handling interior styling. MCM, represented by Nigel Ingram, is serving as the owner’s representative.
The yacht will have an aluminum hull, built in Alustar, with a centerboard keel and a carbon rig with in-boom furling.
The twin-deckhouse configuration includes an owner’s deckhouse aft and a central deckhouse with salon. Also on deck will be three cockpits: one for the owner aft, the main cockpit amidships and a crew cockpit forward of the mast.
A tender will be stowed in a recessed tender well on the foredeck.
Three staterooms will accommodate six guests, including the owners in an aft suite. A seating area can also convert to a stateroom, allowing for a total of eight guests on board.
What else will be on board? Quarters for four crew, a second salon and a gymnasium.
