295-foot Royal Huisman sailing yacht Athena
The 295-foot Royal Huisman Athena — one of the largest sailing yachts launched since the Golden Age of Yachting in the early 1900s — is being made available for charter during the upcoming Christmas and New Year’s holidays in the Caribbean.
“This impressive, three-masted schooner offers vintage excellence at an epic scale,” according to management company YCO Yacht. “Meticulously maintained and fitted with brand-new carpets of the highest caliber, Athena, with her crew of 18, offers an unparalleled charter experience for up to 10 guests.”
Athena was built in 2004, and her most recent major refit was in 2011. Despite being nearly a decade old, she remains the one of the largest private sailing yachts in the world, often listed as No. 2 behind the 305-foot Lürssen Eos. Athena is a performer, too, capable of speeds as high as 19 knots.
Guest accommodations aboard Athena include a master suite with private library, three queen-bed cabins and one twin-bed cabin. Beyond the regular guest areas and toys such as water skis and scuba equipment, charter clients also have access to the crow’s nest — which offers spectacular views from a height of 196 feet up the mast.
The weekly base rate to charter Athena this winter is $500,000. Learn more at www.y.co.
