Vicem Vanguard
Turkish boatbuilder Vicem Yachts has announced its newest line of boats. The Vanguard 45 (right) and the Vanguard 33 were styled by Vicem’s in-house design team, while the seaworthy hull design is by naval architect Michael Peters. And though the exterior styling may say “refined gentleman,” the propulsion systems say “speed demon” — standard power is twin 435-horsepower Volvo IPS 600 drives, which provide a top speed of 34 knots (according to the builder). Both Vanguard models come standard with two cabins (one forward and one amidships) each with a twin berth, a galley and a head with separate shower. Other layouts are available, as are optional twin 800-horsepower MAN R6 engines coupled with Arneson Surface Drive transmissions. They take the Vanguard 45 to reported speeds of more than 50 knots. www.vicemyacht.com
