Heesen Yachts in the Netherlands has launched Project Altea, a 164-foot aluminum yacht with a fast displacement hull form.
Project Altea is the second yacht that Heesen has built on a design and engineering platform that it calls Nova Plus. Frank Laupman of Omega Architects drew the yacht’s exteriors, and Cristiano Gatto handled interior design.
Six staterooms will accommodate 12 guests, who will have access to about 3,700 square feet of interior space. There also are quarters for nine crew.
Power is a pair of 1,450-horsepower MTU 12V 2000 M72 engines. According to Heesen, the power plants will allow a top speed of 19.5 knots and a cruising range of 3,750 nautical miles at 12 knots.
When is Project Altea available for delivery? In June 2021.
