According to the builder, Vripack’s Slide Hull form “reduced resistance and thus reduced fuel consumption for a given speed. For example, at 26 knots, resistance was 14 percent less than a traditional planing hull.” Courtesy Burger Boat Co.

Burger Boat Co. in Wisconsin has just launched a Burger 50 Cruiser that is available for immediate purchase.

The interior on the boat is by De Basto Designs in Miami, with the Slide Hull design by Vripack in the Netherlands. According to Burger, the Slide Hull’s benefits include improved ride quality and reduced pounding. “The vessel does not dive deep into the waves, but ‘cushions’ onto the water surface, thus reducing the pitching motion,” according to the builder.

Burger builds the 50 Cruiser in aluminum. Power is a pair of 600-horsepower Volvo Penta D8-IPS800s with joystick maneuvering, and the Volvo Penta Clear Wake System directs exhaust gases to an above-water discharge when the boat is at idle. (No more gurgling sounds.)

Top speed is reportedly 31 knots, with a cruising speed of 26 knots.

Features aboard the Burger 50 Cruiser include Volvo Penta’s Auto Trim, List and Coordinated Turn features, a Seakeeper 6 gyrostabilizer, a Nautical Structures hydraulic swim platform and a transom barbecue.

How many staterooms are belowdecks? Two, both of them ensuite. There’s a full-beam owner’s stateroom aft with a queen berth, and a guest stateroom forward that can be set up with a queen berth or twins.
