Lyman-Morse in Maine has listed the classic motoryacht Scout for sale following a refit. The asking price is $2.5 million.

Scout is a 73-foot Eldridge-McInnis design that launched in 1930 as Cormar from the Defoe Shipbuilding Company. The 2017-18 refit included repowering her with Caterpillar C7.1 engines, doing structural work in the engine room, and giving her a new paint job and brightwork.

She now has a reported cruising speed of 15 knots with a top-end speed of 22 knots.

Scout is lying in Camden, Maine, and is available for tours with broker Scott Layton, who describes her as “a rare opportunity to own a piece of maritime history.”

What kind of wood was used to build Scout? She has mahogany over cedar planks on oak frames.
