Ocean Independence has just welcomed the 142-foot Helsingfors Ice Lady to the charter fleet, with owners keen to take charter guests to almost any desired destination throughout Europe and Scandinavia.

Built in Finland in 1959, Ice Lady previously served as a Norwegian Coast Guard icebreaker. She began a yacht conversion in 2008, and work continued for four years in three countries and a trio of shipyards.

Her revamped exterior and engineering are by German Frers, with interior design by Jean-Guy Verges.

Ice Lady will have a homeport in the South of France, and the owners are considering charter itineraries in Spain or Croatia for summer 2016. If there is charter interest in Norway or Sweden, they are also open to sending the yacht there.

Weekly base rate: about $106,200 for 10 guests in five staterooms.
