The 228-foot Sherakhan is making waves these days: the classic yacht has been refit and is available for Christmas and New Year’s charters in the Caribbean. That’s not all, however. Her owner has pledged a $20,000 donation to YachtAid Global for every Caribbean charter booking made before this Christmas. YachtAid Global is an organization comprised of yacht owners, yacht crew, volunteers and donors who fund and deliver disaster relief to coastal communities.
Additionally, Y.CO has pledged an extra $5,000 toward YachtAid if the booking is made through a Y.CO broker. Sherakhan has cruised the Caribbean for 10 years and, in the wake of Hurricane Irma and Maria, is giving back.
Originally built in 1965 by Vuyk En Zonen, Sherakhan‘s recent refit included new paint, new decks, new electronics and carpeting, white marble installed in the salon and new soft goods in both the interior and exterior. Besides these upgrades, the yacht has some exciting amenities as well. An 18-person Jacuzzi tub is on the sun deck, while a plethora of water toys and tenders grace her foredeck, including two RIBs, a classic Dutch sloop, WaveRunners, Jet Skis and a 26-foot inflatable slide. After a day on the water, guests can relax in the spa and sauna, or keep the action going with the yacht’s gym. Last but not least, Sherakhan has a beauty salon with a qualified “beauty therapist” as a part of her crew.

Sherakhan easily offers a spot for a holiday family reunion: she accommodates 26 guests in 13 staterooms on 3 decks. That reunion’s 8-day itinerary from St. Lucia to Grenada has all sorts of adventuring possibilities. A day of swimming, snorkeling or hiking in St. Lucia would start the week, followed by hiking the rain forest on St. Vincent on day two. Day three offers a visit to the Old Hegg Turtle Sanctuary on the island of Bequia, while Y.CO suggest exploring the next location, the island of Mustique, by horseback before enjoying sundowners at Firefly Bar.
Next, the yacht anchors in Canouan, from which guests can explore the surrounding islands and go fishing and snorkeling before cruising to Carriacou. The crew serves lunch ashore at Carriacou’s Paradise Beach, as well as a “themed banquet” for dinner.
Grenada offers waterfalls in the rainforest as well, a dip in the swimming holes and a visit to the Grenada Chocolate Company, where locals provide freshly grown cocoa for the open-air facility. Finally, the yacht cruises to St. George’s, with a fresh brunch served on board to wrap up the week.
Her weekly base rate is approximately $501,590.
