One of the hallmarks of Sea Ray’s 450 Sundancer was a media room abaft the salon, a space created thanks to compact Cummins Zeus pod-drive power.
There was an a Ultraleather settee, which converted to a berth, and a 37-inch flat-screen TV, gaming port and two ottomans.
A Shoji-style pocket door separated the salon from the forepeak owner’s stateroom. That berth had an extension that could retract electrically to increase floor space when desired.
At press time, we found 10 Sea Ray 450 Sundancers for sale ranging from $399,000 to $512,928.
From the Archive
“The Zeus joystick makes maneuvering a cinch, and the electronic MerCruiser DTS shifters and throttles were easy to operate. Power steering makes the 450 handle like a sports car, and with optional twin 364 hp QSB-380 diesels, we topped out at about 32 knots, although this was the prototype hull, and the engineering boffins were still tinkering with props. Notable was the 31 gph consumption at a fast cruise of 27 knots.” — Yachting, September 2009
