Princess Yachts is reporting a record-breaking year for 2017, with the most sales in the builder’s 53-year history.
According to the company, advance orders now total more than $1 billion, representing sales that are 20 percent higher than at this time last year. Revenue for 2017 was up more than 26 percent compared to 2016.
“This has been a landmark year in the history of Princess,” Antony Sheriff, executive chairman, stated in a press release. “We have a clear vision to be the highest quality, most innovative and best luxury yacht producer in the world, and it is gratifying to our highly skilled and dedicated 2,700-strong team that the market has responded in tune with our efforts.”
So far this year, Princess has launched the V50, V65 and S78 models. Another six models—including the carbon-fiber R35 sports boat with Active Foil System—are expected to launch before the end of 2018.
Who builds all these boats? The Princess Yachts workforce, which the builder says has increased by 500 people since last year.
