Designer Philippe Briand has unveiled a concept yacht called The Egoist, a 100-foot sailing yacht that is intended to eliminate all compromises made for charter clients and potential future buyers by instead focusing exclusively on the wishes of the original owner.
The Egoist is a variation on classic Eastern Seaboard sailing yachts, Briand says, and can be raced. The interior includes a “superb master” stateroom along with quarters for two crew.
“She is the ideal day-sailer or cruising yacht for an owner who wants to enjoy the sailing experience of a superyacht without the need for numerous crew,” Briand stated in a press release.
Briand urges owners to dream big: “The concept of Egoist is to become an owner’s self-indulgent fantasy; it should be the yacht that they have always dreamed of owning.”
