In 1999, working from a Sparkman & Stephens design, the Lyman-Morse shipyard in Maine built the 55-foot flybridge motoryacht Nighthawk.
The boat has remained in the same family ever since, cruising with the owner-operators between Maine and the Caribbean, and returning to the shipyard for professional maintenance. She received a refit in 2009.
Now, Nighthawk is being offered on the brokerage market for the first time, at an asking price of $935,000.
Nighthawk has twin 600-horsepower Caterpillar 3196 engines that give her a cruising speed of 17 knots and a top speed of 21 knots, according to Lyman-Morse. The interior is satin-varnished cherry wood with raised panels and Herreshoff-style white bulkheads. There are two staterooms with three heads, accommodating as many as five people overnight. A dumbwaiter runs up to the flybridge, and custom-designed Thos Moser chairs are in the salon.
What kind of electronics are in the pilothouse and on the flybridge? Mostly Raymarine and Simrad, including chart plotters and autopilots.
