Sochi yacht marina opens
Sochi, Russia, which gained worldwide prominence hosting the recent Olympic Games, now has its first private yacht marina.
Port Sochi Imeretinskiy opened this month with 40 berths for yachts up to 147 feet LOA and drafts to 25 feet. Shore power and water are available. Superyachts up to 393 feet LOA can anchor in port.
Plans call for expansion into a full waterfront development with moorings, dry dock stowage, shops and restaurants. Currently, there is 24/7 security, boat cleaning services and ferry transportation.
Port Sochi Imeretinskiy is part of a resort complex that served as the main Olympic village, hosting nearly 3,000 athletes. It’s now a residential area with more than 2,000 apartments and the marina.
