Nisi 1700 Xpresso
Construction is being completed on the Nisi 1700 Xpresso, the first model in the Nisi Xpresso series of motoryachts.
Naval architecture on the 56-footer is by Setzer Design Group. Beam will be 16 feet, 4 inches, and draft will be 2 feet, 3 inches. There will be three cabins accommodating a total of six people.
Cruising speed is expected to top more than 40 knots. That’s thanks to extensive use of carbon fiber in construction, as well as power driven by a pair of 1,136-hp Caterpillar diesels with optional jets and twin Volvo IPS 900 pods.
The 1700 Xpresso also has a high-speed digital stability system that incorporates Humphree Interceptors for reduced pitch and less rolling under way.
Lithium power generation systems helped Nisi reduce generator capacity and weight from its larger yachts by 40 percent in the 1700 Xpresso, and reduce fuel consumption and generator running hours by more than 65 percent. These systems have the potential to provide generator independence at anchor for as long as five days, or overnight with air conditioning.
Nisi kept some features from its larger yachts intact for the 1700 Xpresso, including auto-power management and remote-controlled lighting, entertainment systems and vessel controls that can be run onboard or by smart phone.
