Broker Jay Rhoades at Denison Yacht Sales has just listed the 70-foot Marlow Pappy’s Toy, a 2008 build with an asking price of $1,995,000.
“It’s the newest 70 on the market,” Rhoades says. “There are four or five of the 65s and 70s on the market now. The next-youngest 70 is about a 2005.”
Pappy’s Toy is the only Marlow 70 built with C15 Caterpillar Acert engines, Rhoades says. “They make her a little more economical,” he adds. The horsepower rating on the diesels is 865, and the engines have 2,663 hours on them.
The current owner cruised the yacht from the Caribbean up to Canada. “The current owner likes to go slow and go a long ways,” Rhoades said. While the yacht can max out at 22 knots, her cruising speed is 12 knots.
Another feature that sets Pappy’s Toy apart is that her salon seating and dining areas are outfitted differently. “It’s the only Marlow I’ve ever seen where in the salon area, it’s all freestanding furniture instead of the built-in stuff,” Rhoades said.
