If you’re going to Basil’s for the Blues festival, you have a couple of nearby options. Bring friends and splurge on a villa. Check into the Cotton House. Book a room at Firefly. Or pick up a mooring and stay aboard. If you’re interested in renting one of the 100+ magnificent private homes of Mustique, contact the lovely Jeannette Cadet of the Mustique Company (www.mustique-island.com) at (784) 488-8000. She knows each property inside out and will make sure you get just what you need. There are no cookie-cutter villas on Mustique. Owners who build are restricted only by their imaginations-which seem as expansive as their pocketbooks! Cotton House (www.cottonhouse.net) is absolutely lovely and a member of the Leading Small Hotels of the World Group. The old stone barn that houses the lobby and restaurant were originally built for storing cotton. 17 rooms in various cottages and outbuildings surround the barns, most with gorgeous views, some with private plunge pools. Firefly (www.mustiquefirefly.com) is another good option. Perched on a hillside overlooking Brittania Bay, it is a charming guesthouse with four bedrooms, and a bar and restaurant.
