Princess Yachts‘ S78 is the builder’s new flagship for its S Class range. The series includes the S60, S65, S72 and S78.
The S78 has an aggressive look with a raked forward windshield, sunroof and straight-edge sheerline. Her relatively low profile is enhanced by knife-blade-shaped hull glass running from the forepeak VIP to her amidships master.
The S78 is built with a resin-infused fiberglass hull and designed to offer sporty performance. Powered with twin 1,800 hp MAN diesels, the yacht’s top-end is reportedly 36 to 38 knots. With twin 1,900 hp MANs, the S78’s top speed should be 37 to 39 knots.
In addition to performance, al fresco entertainment is a key element for the S78. The cockpit is set up with modular furniture and owners can tailor the space to their needs. Two sun pads over the tender garage are within earshot of the alfresco dining to port and seats across from it. Open the salon doors, and the yacht has an indoor-outdoor space. The galley, aft and to starboard, easily serves guests in the cockpit and the salon.
The yacht accommodates eight guests with four en suite staterooms. The master is full-beam and amidships. There is also a forepeak VIP with island berth, and abaft to starboard is a third guest stateroom with a double berth. Across to port is the fourth stateroom with side-by-side berths. All the way aft is a cabin for two crew or a couple more guests.
The S78 has a 14-fot 6-inch-long tender garage with a launch and retrieval system, and a hydraulic swim platform for easily getting in and out of the water.
