Lyman-Morse has begun construction on a 65-foot sailing yacht designed by Stephens Waring Yacht Design of Belfast, Maine, following construction of a full-scale mockup of the entire yacht as well as an alternative mockup of the master stateroom and guest cabin, from which the owners fine-tuned the plans.

“The owner came to us for our expertise in systems engineering and installation, our attention to detail and responsiveness to owners’ requests,” Drew Lyman, president of Lyman-Morse, stated in a press release. “Our strength also lies in quality and cost management, both of which are crucial in a project this complex.”

The yacht, expected to be christened Anna, will be what Lyman-Morse calls a “modern classic sloop” used primarily for day-sailing, although accommodations will be aboard for six overnight guests. Crew quarters will be installed for deliveries.
