Hylas Yachts has added an integrated hardtop to its Hylas H57 model. The hardtop, which shelters the cockpit, is in addition to a retractable canvas Bimini top that can be deployed to shade the dual helm stations aft.
The Hylas H57 is by Dixon Yacht Design and is intended to be handled by a cruising couple. Other enhancements now in the works include a windshield with an isinglass enclosure or canvas dodger for the cockpit.
“The sailors that buy Hylas Yachts know what they’re looking for,” Andy Huang of Hylas Yachts stated in a press release. “When they tell us what they want, we listen. And as a semi-custom builder, we can use advanced technology and Bill Dixon’s creative designs to meet their needs for cruising comfort, and with a distinctive style.”

How will the new hardtop be built? With carbon fiber. Stainless stanchions will be at the forward end, serving double duty as grabrails for crew.
