Heesen has launched the 164-foot White, a motoryacht previously known as Project Ayla during the construction process.
White is an aluminum yacht that comes in below 500 gross tons. Her exterior is by Frank Laupman at Omega Architects, and her interior is by Cristiano Gatto.
The yacht began as a spec build, and the owners inked a deal to buy her one year into construction. That left enough time for Gatto to create bespoke furniture including a coffee table in gloss ebony, stainless steel and leather; the table’s top converts to hold an ice bucket or serve as a leather tray. Custom sofas with Loro Piana upholstery have armrests with bookshelves.
In outdoor guest areas, fabrics are by Hermès.
When will White be delivered? The expected date is April 2018, after trials in the North Sea.
What else is new at Heesen? The yard recently delivered the 164-foot VanTom and sold a 196-foot custom design called Project Falcon that will be the yard’s biggest steel-hulled yacht.
