80-foot Azimut motoryacht Samaritana
Sales brokers Jared Neff and Michael Zaidan of Neff Yacht Sales flew from Florida to Puerto Rico in early October to check out the 80-foot Azimut Samaritana, which they recently listed for sale on the brokerage market at $1.499 million.
“We took it out and got some photos, and it is in very, very good condition,” Neff tells me. “A big thing on those 80 Azimuts is that they all turn white on the inside. People leave them out in the Florida heat, and the interior woodwork turns white and milky over the years. This boat is a 2004, and the interior is in fantastic condition. It’s her second owner, and he bought it when it was 2 years old, and there has always been a full-time crew doing continual updates and maintenance.”
Also unusual aboard a 2004 build of this size is the fact that Samaritana has zero-speed stabilizers. She boasts brand-new teak decking on the swim platform and in the cockpit, and power is the original pair of 1,500-hp MTU 12V 2000 M9s.
Samaritana accommodates eight to 10 guests in four staterooms. That’s pretty good, but not big enough for the current owner, who is selling her because he’s moving up to a 100-plus-footer.
“He’s willing to deliver the boat to a buyer in Florida as part of the asking price,” Neff says. “But it’s only a two-hour flight to get down to Puerto Rico and see her, and wow is it great taking her out down there.”
