Garmin has unveiled the quatix 5 marine GPS smart watch, which connects to compatible Garmin chart plotters and marine electronics to provide autopilot control, remote multifunction display waypoint marking, data streaming and more.

In addition to the marine-specific features, the quatix 5 also has built-in activity profiles for land and water sports such as running, hiking, biking, swimming, rowing and paddle boarding.

“From fishermen chasing billfish or bass to canoeists, kayakers and big sail and power boaters, the quatix 5 was designed for life on the water,” Dan Bartel, Garmin’s vice president of global consumer sales, stated in a press release. “It combines feature and design qualities from our popular fenix 5 multisport watch series with boating, fishing, cruising and sailing capabilities to deliver the most sophisticated and connected general-purpose marine smart watch on the market today.”
