Frers Design and Royal Huisman have unveiled the Pura Concept, a semicustom sailing yacht that lets owners customize everything from bow and stern profiles to hull sheer and superstructure design.
Interiors, the builder stated in a press release, are “a completely blank slate.”
The first model being shown in plan form is the 130-foot Pura. To offer owners faster delivery times, 80 percent of the design’s engineering is already done, according to Royal Huisman. That includes propulsion, power generation, hydraulics, sail plan, mast, rig, hull structure and keel.
Key specifications include an aluminum hull, a composite superstructure and a top speed of 14 knots with a range of 2,650 nautical miles at 9 knots.
Accommodations will be for a maximum of eight guests and six crew.
Optional packages: They are expected to include Regatta (with a lifting keel and performance boom), World Voyage (with a retractable stern thruster and extended navigation-communications package) and Eco (with an additional battery pack).
