Ferretti has signed a multiyear lease for office, shop and slip space at Lauderale Marine Center in Florida.
One reason Ferretti inked the deal, according to a press release from Lauderdale Marine Center, is that the center has a Foreign-Trade Zone (also known as a free-trade zone) that lets the builder import yachts without paying American tax. Because of the FTZ, Ferretti also can show and sell its yachts to American clients without having to cruise into international waters.
“The addition of Ferretti Group to our offering allows us to support an entire segment of the market in a way that none of our competitors can,” Doug West, president of Lauderdale Marine Center, stated in a press release.
Fun facts: Lauderdale Marine Center has 10,000 linear feet of dockage, can accommodate yachts up to 200 feet length overall and, beginning in autumn 2017, will have haul-out capacity of 500 tons.
