It’s what you don’t see at first blush that makes the Ferretti Custom Line Navetta 28 stand out from the crowd.
For instance, when you gaze at her profile, your eye may be drawn to the sizable hull-side windows. You may think, “Wow, cool view.” But better yet, these windows are stanchion-free.
They are glued in and feature two layers of 25.6-inch-thick glass with a 1.8-inch SentryGlas Plus interlayer to add backbone. The panes are constructed to RINA standards and test at twice their required breaking strength.
In addition, the 28 features the patented “Dual Mode Transom,” allowing the garage door to lift while a platform simultaneously submerges, flooding the garage for tender launch and retrieval. The lower section acts as a lift and swim platform too. Its top section also folds down and over, forming a teak beach.
Quietude is a key component of this long-range cruiser and is helped by Ferretti placing most of the machinery aft, having a full-height fuel tank forward in the engine room and using several soundproofing materials in the bulkheads between the engines and the staterooms. Together, it all keeps noise to a minimum, which will be appreciated on evening passages.
