Ferretti Yachts recently debuted its new 780 in Cannes, France. The 780 fills a gap in the builder’s 8-model line between the 700 and 850.
Borrowing design cues from the Ferretti 450 and 550, the 780’s hull side windows align with the yacht’s staterooms for a constant connection to the sea. The vessel’s four-stateroom layout includes a full-beam master amidships, forepeak VIP and two guest staterooms, each with twins, creating sleeping accommodations for eight, plus room for two crew cabin all the way aft.
Power options for the 780 are from MAN, and include twin 1,400 hp or 1,550 hp diesels. Ferretti reports a cruising speed of about 24 knots, and a 27-knot top-end with the 1400s. The 1550s should provide a 27-knot cruise and 31-knot wide-open-throttle speed.
The builder reports a 300-NM range at cruise speed with the smaller motors and a 280-NM range at cruise speed with the larger option. A standard Seakeeper gyro should keep the 780 steady underfoot.
On the entertainment front, the 780 has a teak beach club at the stern with two sunpads. The foredeck has another sunpad, plus a,ounge space with u-Shaped sofa. And on the flybriodge, there is another sunpad aft to port, a teak dining table with U-shaped seating forward, as well as companion seatong across form the portside helm station.
