Nordhavn’s have always been known for having long-range capability, but the builder is adding some zip to the equation in its 59 Coastal Pilot.
The 59 CP has a semi-displacement hull design and powered with twin 715 bhp Cummins diesels she reportedly makes 18 to 20 knots at wide-open-throttle. But if long passages at slower speeds is your goal, Nordhavn says you can dial her back to make the most of the 1,100-gallon fuel capacity. (The builder has not released sea trial data yet.) This vessel also has an unlimited offshore rating meaning she’s built “taking on most serious coastal cruises for up to 1,000 miles.”
She has a galley-up configuration with two layout options, either two or three staterooms. In either configuration, the master is set amidships with the berth positioned athwartships. A forepeak VIP is common to both layouts too. With three staterooms, there is a guest space abaft to port of the VIP with upper and lower bunks.
Look for the Nordhavn 59 Coastal Pilot to debut at the Newport International Boat Show this fall.
