Smartgyro, the Italy-based company that’s a strategic partner of Yanmar, has announced a new SG60 model for boats 55 to 65 feet length overall.
The addition of the SG60 to the model lineup means there are now four Smartgyro models available for yachts from 30 to 80 feet length overall.
According to the company, Smartgyro models use a modular mechanical design that makes them the only gyro units that can be serviced, maintained and assembled directly inside the boat. That means there should be no need for the whole gyro to be shipped back to the factory for maintenance.
“The variety of vessels now covered by our new portfolio also ensures that more boaters will be able to experience the unique benefits of our gyro stabilizers so they can maximize their time on the water and enjoy a positive onboard experience,” Sander Gesink, Smartgyro’s marketing director, stated in a press release.
What does the Smartgyro SG60 weigh? According to the company, it weighs 2,006 pounds.
