Otam, founded in 1954 in Italy, will make its U.S. debut at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show this November. The builder is bringing two models to the event: the Otam Millennium 55HT and the Otam Millennium 45 Open.
The Millennium 55HT matches a pair of 1,724-horsepower Caterpillar C32 diesels to Arneson drives producing a blistering top speed that surpasses 55 knots. This model originally was designed in 2008 as a support boat for superyachts, and several have been sold for day-charter and short-term charter use between Miami and Palm Beach, Florida.
The Millennium 45 Open is a 1998 design that was reimagined in 2015. She has a pair of 715-horsepower Caterpillars that produce a top speed of 45 knots and a cruising speed of 35 knots. She’s designed for an indoor-outdoor feel with a wide cockpit, an open-air salon and a belowdecks layout that can be customized to meet the owner’s needs.
What Otam builds: Since 2014, the yard has had a custom-yacht division for yachts up to 131 feet. It also offers its Millennium range, and it builds fast chase boats.
