Fitzroy Yachts Zefira
It’s only July, but so far there have been a number of high-profile megayachts making Dennis Conner’s North Cove marina a stop on their summer cruising schedule.
The latest to arrive is Zefira (pictured), a 164-foot sloop built by Fitzroy Yachts in 2010. The owners wanted a fast cruiser, and that’s what they got: a hull speed of 18 to 19 knots. Zefira is further the largest sloop designed by Dubois Naval Architects without a flying bridge.
Zefira isn’t the only Fitzroy build at North Cove this week. In fact, the 144-foot Artemis, launched in 2007, is docked there. She, too, is a sloop and performance-oriented, having participated in regattas.
Motoryachts are also among the summer visitors in North Cove. Last month the 167-foot Emelina, the 131-foot Tats, 130-foot Endless Summer, and 125-foot Bayou caught attention. The yacht that generated the most buzz, though, was the 162-foot Remember When. She’s been a guest before, so plenty of people recognize her, but the following video her crew shot of their approach into New York Harbor has been viewed on YouTube about 1,500 times:
