Pershing 70
Hull No. 1 of the Pershing 70 is expected to launch this month at Italy’s Marina dei Cesari, right on schedule for the model’s premiere at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September.
Preliminary data show a top speed of 44 knots and a cruising speed of 39 knots, powered by a pair of 1,623-mhp MTU 10V 2000 M94s and a Top System 85P surface-drive setup.
Designer Fulvio De Simoni worked with Advanced Yacht Technology & Design on the Pershing 70, which the builder hopes will continue to strengthen its position in the 60- to 80-foot market following last year’s introduction of the Pershing 62.
Hull No. 1 will be “Champagner Pearl” with a carbon gray hardtop. Inside, light shades of ash-wood furniture alternate with dark, lacquered, charcoal-gray finishes. Three en suite cabins including the master are belowdecks, and Hull No. 1 has what Pershing calls “extremely original décor choices” in the master bathroom, such as a shower wall fitted with horizontal metal strips that create a multicolor visual effect when they’re wet.
On the technology side, the Pershing 70 has a series of electronic control units that allow owners to run the yacht through touchscreen displays at the helm and anywhere else specified. Nearly a dozen options are available for monitoring onboard systems however owners want the setups to be organized, and the electronic control units can be integrated with an audiovisual system and iPad controls.
