Hatteras Yachts has announced plans for a 90 Motor Yacht. The model will be a midrange addition in the Hatteras line, falling between the 70 Motor Yacht and the 100 Raised Pilothouse, and it will be available as either an open or an enclosed flybridge design, according to the announcement made at this week’s Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.
“These are semi-custom yachts that give owners a wider range of opportunities for personalization,” said John W.S. Ward, president and CEO of Hatteras Yachts.
The Hatteras 90 Motor Yacht will be built with resin-infused fiberglass. She will have a fuel tank integral to the hull along with two smaller tanks, a configuration that Hatteras says allows for more fuel stowage and weight savings compared with similar-size yachts that have four or five fuel tanks.
Draft will be less than 5 feet thanks to the use of prop tunnels in the hull. Owners will be able to choose Caterpillar or MTU engines ranging from 1,600 to 1,920 bhp apiece.
The Hatteras 90 Motor Yacht’s standard layout will have a forward galley with the salon and formal dining aft. An optional layout moves the galley to amidships with the dining table aft and the salon forward, for additional privacy. In both versions, a glass skylight is included to give the main deck a sense of height and light.
Four en-suite staterooms are belowdecks, and crew quarters are abaft the engine room.
One noteworthy option: foldout balconies on the main deck.
Another noteworthy option: fore- and aft-facing benches with a table on the foredeck (a sun pad, settee and cocktail table are standard).
Where the Hatteras 90 Motor Yacht will debut: at the 2017 Yacht & Brokerage Show in Miami.
