Canard Yachts will debut the first hull of the eMotion 36 Hybrid at this year’s Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. This innovative boat features carbon-fiber construction and is propelled by a single 570 hp diesel engine with twin 20-kW electric motors accompanying it. She can cruise for up to three hours using solely electric power, and with the throttle down the vessel can hit a thrill-inducing top speed of 36 knots.
According to eMotion, the 36 Hybrid will be the only boat of its size with RINA Green Plus certification, and be able to cruise in protected areas thanks to its green status.
The 36 will not be Canard’s sole yacht at the show. The company also will have an eMotion 45 Hard Top, a Powercat 48 and a Powercat 55 on display. All three of these models are hybrid-powered as well.
Canard’s distributor in the United States is Forward Ventures CP LLC, which also distributes well-regarded brands such as Sirena and Overblue.
