Burgess , in partnership with IYAT, has opened a new office in Shanghai. The expansion comes three years after Burgess entered the Asian market, and following the sale of the 196-foot Amels Event.
Rock Wang of IYAT will serve as Burgess’ chief representative in China, focusing on yachts 100 feet and larger. Fay Duan, who speaks English, will be charter representative in China. Leon Li, a naval architect and marine engineer who trained in China and Britain, will become yacht management officer.
“With the opening of the Shanghai office, Burgess continues its strategy to slowly but steadily expand its operations in Asia,” Jonathan Beckett, Burgess Group CEO, stated in a press release. “We are not expecting any regional market acceleration in the short term but will continue to develop our team, networks and relationships. We are confident that our commitment to the Asian market will be rewarded in the long term.”
Award winner: The Christofle Yacht Style Awards 2018 named Burgess best international brokerage company in Asia.
