When Viking Yachts introduced its 76 Convertible in 2010, it replaced the builder’s 74C that was introduced in 2004. Viking’s manager of design at the time said that 90 percent of builder’s new designs replace existing models, giving them a tangible starting point for setting goals.

“After spending time running the 76, it was clear that Viking’s design methodology works,” Yachting previously wrote. “Cranked up, the 76 delivered 39.6 knots—impressive.”
