IYC has listed the 176-foot Bella for sale.
Bella is the largest yacht ever built by Sensation Yachts in New Zealand, which ceased trading in 2009 but then underwent legal disputes until 2018. The yard built some notable yachts that gained worldwide acclaim, including the 173-foot Noble House and the 156-foot Lady Anastasia. After the company went into receivership, Ward Demolition managed to salvage and sell off one of the three hulls that were left partially constructed.
The launch of Bella was back in 2005, long before any of that happened, and the yacht was most recently refitted in 2023, bringing multiple aspects up to date. The recent refit work included a new air-conditioning system, new teak on the sundeck and swim platform, and new carpeting throughout the interior.
This is also a yacht with a history of cruising in multiple regions that are popular among boats in this size range. Bella has been used in the Bahamas and Caribbean (including cruising down to Guadeloupe), crossed to the Mediterranean, and cruised in Greece, Italy and other locations on that side of the Atlantic.
Accommodations aboard Bella are for 12 guests in six staterooms. The master stateroom spans the yacht’s beam on the main deck with a private office and generously sized closets.
The yacht’s interior is by Mitchell Rubin, with fine woods, marble accents and furnishings that IYC describes as “opulent.” A spiral staircase connects all three main decks, and serves as a notable visual design element.
On the exterior decks, Bella has an enclosed gymnasium with broad views of the surroundings from the top deck, along with an aft-deck hot tub and a bar for relaxing after the workout is complete. A day head in the gymnasium is a convenient feature, so guests don’t have to go all the way down to their staterooms.
For fun in the sun, the yacht’s toy box includes Seabobs, personal watercraft, scuba gear for 12 people and a nitrox compressor.
Notable equipment aboard Bella includes Quantum zero-speed stabilizers. Bella also recently completed a 20-year survey.
Which sales brokers at IYC are representing Bella? Kevin Bonnie, who is managing partner of Monaco, and Scott Jones, who is a sales consultant.
