“Sabre is one of the masters of building classically inspired DownEast designs that incorporate modern styling details. Combined as a whole package, these details create a timeless, elegant, yet contemporary design. The proportions of the 48 work perfectly, in my opinion. The tumblehome of the transom flows seamlessly into a deck with moderate shear, which benefits from a cabin house design that is absent of any harsh 90-degree angles,” Yachting previously reported.
Owners can easily board Happy Days from the swim platform and through the portside transom door to the cockpit. Relax in the sun on the starboard side forward-facing L-shaped settee with folding table or on the aft facing bench-style settee. Want to enhance your tan a little? Layout on the foredeck and enjoy a little alone time. Stainless-steel handrails and non-slip fiberglass soles are a few of this yacht’s few safety features. For those who seek a little more adventure, Happy Days has a lift that secures a Highfield tender to shuttle guests to a private beach for lunch.
Happy Days’ climate-controlled pilothouse has large windows on each side allowing natural light to illuminate the area. An open-air environment can be created when opening up the door and windows to the cockpit area. Two Stidd captain’s chairs sit at the helm with an L-shaped settee adjacent on the portside, allowing guests to join the captain while cruising. Abaft the helm station is the salon with an L-shaped dinette with a folding table to starboard and with a bench-style settee to port that adjusts forward to complete the dinette. Guests have the option to enjoy a meal inside the salon, or go alfresco in the cockpit.
Down five steps from the helm deck is Happy Days’ galley. The varnished cherry interior is complemented with a stainless-steel, stand-up refrigerator/freezer, convection-microwave oven, solid-surface countertops, two burner electric cooktop and a stainless-steel under- mount sink with cover and a pull-out faucet. Cold goods can be stowed in the refrigerator/freezer while dry goods and galley accessories can be stowed in drawers and stowage lockers below the counter.
After a long day on the water, owners can retire to one of two staterooms located forward of the galley. The master stateroom has an island berth with en suite head. The teak-and-holly sole and abundant cherrywood glow and are accented by light-colored fabrics. Stow your personal belongings in drawers beneath the berth, drawers in the bulkhead aft of the berth and two hanging lockers. The VIP stateroom has a centerline island berth with an en suite head. An additional crew cabin is available with a full-sized berth.
Atlantic Yacht and Ship stated, “The 48’s traditional exterior profile belies the contemporary performances of her V-hull. She cruises at 27 knots and at wide open throttle she’ll attain more than 32 knots. With the Zeus pod drive system, turns at speed are as exciting as they are in a fine sports car but perhaps even more exhilarating is the quiet that one experiences at cruise speeds. Less than 75 Dba makes her one of the quietest motor yachts available today. The joystick and Skyhook operations give every captain the confidence to dock her in the most difficult of circumstances”.
Where is Happy Days located? The yacht is currently lying in Fort Pierce, Florida.
