The two-stateroom Sabre Yachts 42 Salon Express has a modified V-hull with a 16-degree transom deadrise. Powered by 425 hp Cummins QSB diesels paired to the Zeus pod drives, the 42 Express can reportedly hit a top speed of 34 knots. Using a built-in GPS, its Skyhook feature helps keep the 42 in place. Zeus also helps with maneuverability at planing speeds and around the dock.
The yacht’s interior is varnished cherrywood and there’s a bird’s-eye maple galley sole. At press time, six Sabre 42 Express boats were available, ranging from $345,000 to $995,000.

“The less obvious advantage of employing these drives shows in the general arrangement plan. Zeus allows the designers to place the engines farther aft. This let Sabre move the generator into the machinery space forward of the engine room. The design team was also able to put the washer/dryer combo and a freezer into this space, freeing room in the accommodations for additional stowage.”
