For owners in the market for an owner-operator capable yacht with crew accommodations, HMY Yacht Sales currently has Kaos—a 2019 Princess Y85—listed with a $5.795 million price tag. The 86-foot motoryacht has a four-stateroom layout that sleeps eight with crew space for three.
“With the Y85, the British builder looked to create a yacht that has all the luxuries which fans of the Princess brand expect but with comforts that also make the spaces feel relaxed,” Yachting previously reported. “The Y85 is a yacht that can be owner-operated or run with a captain, and its features imbue the richness of the onboard spaces with casual touches. The combination of luxe design and family-friendly amenities is a credit not only to Princess but also to naval architect Bernard Olesinski and the Italian design firm Pininfarina.”
The gloss-finish walnut interior has salon lounge seating aft to either side with two L-shaped settees and a glass-topped coffee table to port and a four-person sofa to starboard. The main deck galley is amidships to port with a circular dining table directly to starboard. The galley is equipped with an array of features and appliances, including:
- Wolf induction cooktop
- Wolf oven
- Subzero refrigerator and two freezer drawer units
- Subzero 48-bottle wine chiller
- Quartz countertops – Misty Carrera
- Hansgrohe faucet with pull-out head
- Garbage disposal
Sleeping accommodations belowdecks include four en suite staterooms which sleep up to eight. Amidships, the full-beam (20’8”) master stateroom has a king berth, desk, sofa and flat-screen TV. The forepeak VIP stateroom also has a king berth. The port guest stateroom has a queen berth while the starboard guest stateroom has twin berths.
Topside, guests can enjoy shaded alfresco dining in the cockpit with the U-shaped transom bench seat and fixed table. A flat-screen TV mounted forward to port means having the option of watching the big game between snorkeling and catching some rays. Speaking of sun, head to the foredeck where a four-person sun pad sits forward of a built-in U-shaped settee.
The flybridge has a variety of entertainment spaces which include a lounge pad aft of the hardtop, a U-shaped dinette amidships to port and a two-stool bar to starboard. Forward, two L-shaped sofas flank the upper helm station.
Kaos is powered by twin 1,900 hp MAN V12 diesels with 1,150 hours. This setup should see a 30-plus-knot top speed and a 25-knot cruise.
Some other notable features on board Kaos include:
- 2 – 32 kW generators (1,200 hours on each)
- Garmin GPSMAP 8617 MFD displays (upper and lower helm)
- Garmin 12 kW open array radar
